On Thursday 21st November 2019, Nelson Netball celebrated Maree Smith's lifetime contribution to Netball in the region at the ASB Nelson Sports Awards. We are very luck to have had Maree Smith contribute so much to our sport and you will still see her down at the courts on Thursdays and Saturdays not only umpiring, but assisting our whole umpire squad with coaching, development and assessments. 

A small extract: "As convenor of Nelson Umpires for twelve years Maree has had a massive influence on our umpire development. Her positive attitude and calm approach is much appreciated and her input and valuable knowledge has benefitted all. Her exemplary role modelling, presentation and professionalism is an example for many."
